Program & Course Approval
Process and Instructions for Academic Program and Course Approval
A Master Program Data Form (MPDF) and/or a Master Course Data Form (MCDF) is required to maintain an accurate record of the University's offerings and requirements and to list them in the Schedule of Classes, bulletins, and student transcripts.
Before changes or additions to the academic curriculum are instituted or announced, they must be approved by:
- Program/department and school
- Associate Provost for Academic Planning and Assessment
MPDFs and MCDFs and all required supporting documents must be completed and submitted early enough to allow for sufficient review and approval by the program/department, the school, and Academic Planning and Assessment prior to the requested effective date. Retroactive approvals will not be granted, and new programs or revisions cannot be publicized to current or prospective students until approved by Academic Planning and Assessment. Academic Planning and Assessment will make every effort to promptly review and provide feedback on complete submissions that meet the submission requirements. The full proposal, with all applicable elements listed here accompanying the signed MPDF and/or MCDF, should be submitted in both hard-copy and electronic form to:
